DoodleChairs – chairs decorated with artworks by ADP student artists – were given pride of place at the VIP table during Pathlight School’s 10th Anniversary celebrations.
PM Lee Hsien Loong, Guest-of-Honour, was presented with a DoodleChair with bamboo painting done by ADP student artist, Ng Li Jie.
The bamboo painting captured the essence of Pathlight School’s 10-year-journey as it likened the growth of students to ‘Young shoots rapidly growing into a dense bamboo forest’; based on the Chinese saying: “雨后春笋般蓬勃生长,成为茂密的竹林”
The DoodleChair series were also displayed during the Encore Celebration for parents at the Term 4 Parent Communication & Training Night.
Pathlight School students participated in the 2013 Purple Parade, the largest special needs movement in Singapore that supports inclusion and celebrates abilities of persons with special needs.
ADP student artists demonstrated their talent and unique style of art by doing live drawing on the stools.
Pathlight School students had the opportunity to contribute to the community.
ADP student artists were invited by Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital to paint light cubes for their Christmas fundraising drive, ‘Light a Dream’.
These painted light cubes were sold online to raise funds for Pathlight School’s Poor and Needy Fund.
